Emails using E61, '3' in UK & mac.com

With apologies in advance if I'm missing some v obvious step, I've just acquired an E61 through '3' in the UK, and am struggling with setting up my device to receive and send emails from my .mac account.

I've downloaded Mobile Mail from 3, but their Mobile Mail help page on the web has been down for the past 48hrs.

I presume the default '3' access point is appropriate?

I've created a .mac email account on the E61, and inserted my .mac username & password, listed incoming mail server as mail.mac.com, outgoing mail server as smtp.mac.com, specified IMAP rather than POP, but then... nothing happens when I try to connect, and once I've specified the access point (I've set this to 'Always ask'😉.

Any thoughts gratefully appreciated, and again apologies for any stupidity on my part!!

if you're using Mobile Mail you will need to use '3' as the access point. Don't worry about data usage, you get a fixed amount each month as part of the 2.50 each month.

After you've set up the app on the phone visit https://3ukie-relay.seven.com/iedition/home/ to set up the other settings.

Bear in mind that the service is broken presently with regard to sent and deleted email. You can't select the correct folder into which these are to be moved to on the site. I have complained many times about this and while on the phone they accept the problem is an issue they have not resolved. Therefore if you send an email don't expect to find it in your sent-items folder at home or in the office. Likewise for deleted email.
