N71 restore/spontaneous reboot probs

I've had my N71 for about a month and had no probs til now. But in the last few days it's started to suddenly pop up a screen that says "Phone needs to restart". I back it up regularly on PC Suite and memory card. Gave it the old *#7370# and then restored it from PC Suite. Restore took about an hour and in the end it had restored nothing. Tried to restore from memory card but the phone restarts as soon as the restore begins. I have a LOT of contacts backed up and can't get to them. At this point I'm ready to send the phone flying at high speed at the wall.

Can anyone tell me whats going on???:con?

oops!
Found the answer. You must set the date first! I'd ignored the date as I used to do with my 6600 and my old ngage. Of course 3rd edition doesn't allow for laziness...

Also think I've found the answer to the spontaneous restart problem. I removed the sim card for the first time since I've had the phone and it was covered with white powder. I don't know where it comes from cos the rest of the phone's still really clean. Can only think it came from the factory with the powder in the sim card slot. Cleaned the sim and the problem seems to have stopped. Wierd!!!
