Sorry guys, I'm not the best with this phone stuff.. but what else do I need other than just the program and the map to run TomTom?

I think you'll need at least 512Mb SD Card, but with memory cards being so cheap now you're just as well getting 1Gb or 2Gb.
UI've got 1Gb mini SD and there's loads of space left after installing the GB map and tomtom
I have a 2gb card. This might sound silly but I need a GPS module, correct?
oh yeah, you need a GPS receiver. 😃
This is the one I used for my N80 and I have also used it when I had TomTom on my old Nokia 3230
There may be cheaper ones available and there may also be better GPS receivers available. I have had no problems whatsoever with the one I have posted.
That said, it may be worthwhile researching it, it was almost a year ago I bought the BT GPS receiver.

yeah i use a bt-77 aswell -i liked it because it uses a nokia battery so cheap and easy to replace, the signal isnt as good as newer ones with a sirf III chipset, but Ive put an external ariel on mine so it can just live in the glovebox (and i leave it constantly on and constantly on charge -not good for the battery but their cheap as i have said). I droped mine and it fell open, so did my brother on his, but they both still work. the official tom tom unit is very nice. but same as caloomba i dont have experience in newer models.
I'm using a BT-77 as well, the beauty is the Nokia battery capabilities.
Made a 45 minute journey this morning and even with the signal dropping to "1" bar , tomtom never reported a lost GPS connection and also never dropped the bluetooth connection either.
