Hi,

Please help.

I am currently on my sixth n80 handset, this is over the last 2 weeks.

Problem

Ring the phone, the first ring is fine, but it then it distorts and sound horrible.

Music plays fine

Over the last two weeks i have had to return 5 phone, i received a new modle this morning and have the same problem, here's what i done.

TNT Arrive, drop off new N80 and take back old N80
open box
install sim, battary, mem card.
Plug in charger
leave phone for 3 hours.

Turn it on

Set time and date

copy contact to phone

Cross my fingers.

Ring it, rings once fine, second ring its fXXXXXXX

firmware is
V3.0617.06
03-05-2006
RM-92
(58.01)

Called my local repair centre and this is the lastest f/w they have.

Help Help ???

I get this too but only with MID files. I'm on the newer firmware tho.
It sounds to me as tho the first ring comes through ok, but then the load on the processor increases (it storing the call in the Log or something similar) and then it starts to stutter. This is just conjecture however.

ok, i left the incomming tone on the standard nokia tune, and rung the mobile same problem, on hte second ring it distorts.

Now i go into Profiles and play the nokia tune, its plays 5 times without it distorting.

So the problem on occurs when ringing the mobile phone.

I've turned call loggin off and no change.

Thanks

Update,

just turned the profile to maxium and guess what, i dont get any problems

ignore, it still happens

Mine also does this. If you switch off 'Active standby' the problems goes away but then you don't get all the data on the front screen.

Hello mate,

i've managed to fix it, try this and let us know:

settings\networks , change from dual mode to umts, this worked fine for me.

reboot it and try.

let us know how you ge on

Did anyone get any results for this problem?

on other forums many different things have been suggested....

theONLY thing i found to work was the above suggestion to change fromdual mode to UMTS...

but i would rather leave the phone on dual mode.... (better coverage?)

any one?
