ProfiMail to overcome email issues on N73

I had a few strange problems when using the standard email application on the N73. After setting up a POP3 account, I noticed that, after selecting Delete on phone and server, it actually did not delete the message on the server. Also, but thats just a functional limitation on the N73 email application, it does not clean up the list of emails. It just puts a cross through the email. With a lot of spam, the list can become very big during a longer stay from home.

So, I created an IMAP account referring to the same mailbox. Now, it appeared that I could delete messages on the server AND on the phone. However, most spam messages could not be deleted. I dont know why. When I tried to delete the message, it jumped out of the email application to the today screen.

I now purchased the ProfiMail application. Although the look & feel is not spectacular (colors and fonts can be improved), the functionality is fantastic. In order to save traffic with my GPRS account, there are 3 levels of download. First, just get the headers of the messages. Then, if clicking on a message, get just 2 kb (can be changed) of the message. This allows you to see the message body, when there is a big attachement to the mail. Then, if you really want to see the whole thing, select download.
Also, deleting messages, with which I experienced problems with the default application, works flawlessly.

I have the same problem. But some times, I was able to delete the messages. Something I dont undestand from the behavior of mail application on N73... Is not the most clear way of work.:frown:

I had the same issues as you have had. I upgraded the firmware via Nokias website the the latest one using thier application and it now works fine. Resolves the issue!

Hope that helps.
