Hi all,
Just to let you all know that before I had:
3.0617.06 03-05-2006
RM-92
Nokia N80 33.01
on O2
Tomtom 6 was installed last night without any problems, straight way the bluetooth issue was apparent, I can do everything as normal in tomtom, but leave it paired with the GPS receiver for 5 min, the connection drops and cause tomtom to freeze up, I had to go to bluetooth connection manager to turn it off then back on again to unfreeze tomtom (lol). This was unbearably annoying, and I wasn't willing to put up with it.
I have rang all local Nokia service centres, they all had v4 firmware but they won't flash it unless 20 is paid. So I decided to give it a google and flash it myself. Took me a good half day to get all the required software and information, the flash went smoothly, and now I am sitting here with:
V 4.0623.0.41
26-07-2006
RM-92
Nokia N80 (11) (Chinese)
Tomtom's been stayed connected for about 1 hour so far without a single drop :icon14:
I think I am quite please with the result, the signal strength is noticeably stronger and I can now receive 3g signal in my house.
If you want to run Tomtom6 on this phone, v4 is a must.
😊
i dont know how they got heek to ask for money for a flash , when its down to them the first version didnt work

Better advice would be to upgrade to handset to V4.xxxx Firmware.
Most GPS apps did not work with v3.xxxx FW on the N80, including Route66.
I am on V4.xxxx FW and did 3 hours driving on Thursday with N80, Tomtom GPS Receiver and TomTom 6.01, without a single problem.

GPS driver is v1.20
and gb map version v.650.1046
my phone is V3.0617.0.6
03-05-2006
RM-92
NOKIA N80 (33.01)
and is on o2
i guess im just luck ay WOOOOHAHAHAHAH !😉
mine is:
N80: V 3.0618.0.2 (on three uk)
TTN6: 6.010 (7640) GPS driver: v1.20
GPS: old BT66
had it connected and driving for 50mins this morning without a prob. I closed tomtom, then reopened it (just to see if i could make it misbehave) it worked fine for the remaining 20 mins i had it on!
will have a play with poi's to see if i can get it to misbehave (i would like to find out now before I'm relaying on it on a long journey!) -ultimately i will go V4, but I'm going to wait to get it done by nokia or via the online thing (when they release it for the n80-the phone that needs it more than any other!)
Edit: done another 2 hours of driving with no tomtom problems, i have added loads of pois to the standard ones, and have many pois displayed -no problems. i even tried walking away from the car/gps with the phone so it lost its bluetooth (left for about 5 mins) came back and it sprung back into life! -couldnt do that with my 6680 -it would have a tantrum and would need to manually reconect or even reboot!

Point of Interest, tomtom comes with loads built in (petrol stations etc) and you can download others (Mcd's etc) and add your own. you can then navigate to these points and display them on the map.
so has anyone found a fix for this then ??
thanks very much
im on v3 and its krrp dropping every 3 min's
