Just curious if this exists or if it's still in speculation phase. I've seen mention of it (v2.x) and tried to do some searching on the Nokia site and am coming up empty.
Anyone?

Update: For others that might be looking for the update you first need to download the Nokia Software updater found here. Then you simply plug your e70 into the wall charger as well as the USB cable to your PC and run the software updater. I will automatically update your firmware to the latest version available.
WARNING: Back up all of your contacts and any files or settings that are saved on the phone because all of your settings and files will be deleted (removable memory appears to be unaffected) so you will want to make sure you're prepared for that.
Hope that helps. Now to see what issues it solved if any.

It's basically RAM and performance improvements, plus more reliable Wi-Fi.
Well worth having! Very happy with my E70 at the moment. Though still looking forward to tomorrow evening and Nokia's new flagship launch.

I tried some searching and couldn't find anything.

I did the upgrade last night and my MP3's actually sound fine. I even noticed that some of the DVDs that I compressed are slightly louder when before they weren't even loud enough to hear. Now with the volume all the way up they can be heard but I would still like to be able to turn them up louder. So far the update did nothing but good things for me though. :icon14:
I tried to update my firmware last night (from the1.0610 dated 30/5/06 that the phone was supplied with) and the Nokia Software Updater tells me that there is no update available.
I'm on Vodafone UK.
Has any Vodafone user got v2.* firmware - and if so, how.
cheers
Terry1100,
Yes, I have the latest firmware and Vodafone but I had it done at a Nokia Service Center. You need the firmware to get Blackberry up and running.
Regards,
Karl
will this firmware upgrade work with E70-2 (USA 850 Version)
Karl,
Presumably the Nokia Centres don't charge for this - do they do it while you wait ?
To find out what firmware verison you have, type

Latest version which I installed is 2.0618.07.10 (31-08-06) through Nokia's Software Update app.
