How to force 3G connection / data connection ?

Hi,
I'm in an area where the GSM connection is slightly stronger than the 3G connection. My N70 (upgraded to the latest firmware) logs onto 3G but then seems to drop it for a GSM connection. This is annoying as I need to use it for data, and on the few occasions it goes 3G, it is obviously much faster.

As phone settings don't appear (Settings->Network) to give the option of a 3G only connection (only GSM or dual) is there anyway to force it to use 3G? Is there any software for the phone or my PC to control this, does anyone know? As I say, there is definitely a good 3G signal present.

I once used a Vodafone data card that had software that allowed you to choose 3G only - Nokia's One Touch Access within PC Suite does not allow this flexibility. If it makes any difference I am on TMobile, and connect to the N70 with a cable.

Thanks!
Alex

Dont need to be forced. By default it uses 3G. Only with connection problems, it turns to GSM.

So you'd think, but that's not the case. As stated, the stronger GSM signal is being chosen by the operating system over the only slightly weaker 3G signal - I've watched it happen when the phone is stationary. It is technically possible to override this behaviour, my question is does anyone know of software, or a tweak to make it happen?
