Que? Do you mean use as a GPS system? No big setup, buy and install Wayfinder and get yourself a bluetooth GPS receiver and that's it.
I installed Wayfinder (www.wayfinder.com). It can be connected to GPS as well, but I have not tried that yet. It works well although a bit slow with a GPRS connection.

Thanks for that.
I had a think last night and was wondering if it was such a good idea to use the P990i as my sat nav as I also want to use it via bluetooth to talk on.
I guess it may be able to handle sat nav and a phone conversation at the same time, but I thought it may be a bit iffy.
So I looked on eBay last night and P910i go for 100 to 160. By the time you add on a GPS receiver at say 40 and the cost of the software it didn't seem worthwhile, when you get all in one Sat Nav for under 200.
Anyway I chatting about Sat Nav's @ coffee break this morning and a colleague said I could have his TomTom 700 for 200. He bought in Feb but doesn't it. It's in pristine condition and he has all the stuff that came in the box and his Halfords receipt.
When I get the manual tomorrow and all the other bits I'll see if I can get ny P990i to work via Bluetooth for calls.
Thanks anyway.
I am a little confused, Wayfinder sat nav is not compatable with the P990 at present. Wayfinder customer support have advised that software 6 will be updated on the 16th October, only then will the P990 be supported.
Any other sat nav software compatable with P990 at present?
Tom Tom and Navicore both now support UIQ3
😉
Is the web site gneedg.com the right address as i've tried it quite a few times but keep getting the unable to access page at this time-try again later message.

Hi everyone.
I've used it (just to see if it worked) with TomTom6 + BTG7000 ( that is a GPS) (via blutooth), and at the same time it was linked to my BMW's bluetooth interface for thelephone call. In fact I was able to see al the list of tel contacts on the cockpit, but I wasn't able to hear the voice of TT6 neither from the phone nor from the car's loudspeakers. I do not remeber if i received or made a call during that trip, but apparently all was ok on the P990i's display.

You would make your life alot easier if you just get a handheld navigation system,or wait for phones with this system built in ( N95)
