Can additional software be added to the 3650 in order for it to support mp3s??? you can get MMC (or is it MCC) memory discs up2 128MB - a lot of music
Music
Yeah, there is already programs for that.
Try searching this forum. 😃 😃
thanks for your reply. i've not looked at mobiles/mobile software for 24 months - been using the 6210 and had not one problem but now feel it's time to change. will have a look.
i read on a spec sheet it also supports wav files, aswell a midi if this is true you could use proper sound files as ringing tones?
Yes, you can use wav, amr, mid as ring tones. There are quite a good
collections of those on:

So it will be possible to listen to mp3's by the looks of it, but what will you be able to play them on ? Apart from listening to them on the phone's speaker, does anyone know if it will be possible on earpieces or even stereo headphones ? Or what about bluetooth headphones ?
Yes it works with headphones 😊
I dont know if 3650 has bt-audio profile though. ?
I read on nokia's site that unlike the 7650, the 3650 will support bluetooth handfree profile. However, I dont know enough about bluetooth to know what that will mean for listening to audio via a headset. Over to you guys......
Oh, but will any of it be in stereo ?
yes, the it will work with BT headsets 😃
about stereo i dont really know.
Thats great, thanks.
I only discovered the 3650 a few days ago by accident, and then found this forum and suddenly I MUST get one of these phones- there seems to be so many things you can do with them. Much better than all those other little flip phones out with just a camera and( if your lucky) java.
All of my friends are what i call 'mobile phone luddites' - they only ever get the cheapest nokia's around and hardly do anything with them. BY the time I've finished showing them the 3650 taking photo's, making videos, playing mp3's, wav's as ringtones, beatiful screensavers and wallpapers, 3-d games etc...oh yes, and it makes calls 😃 . Should blow them away.
So with a 128Mb MMC card, in theory I could convert some decent videos( futurama episodes for example) to the correct size and format for the 3560, store them on it and view them at my leisure ? Or am I getting carried away ?

Yes, you can do that 😃 there is that realmedia player in 3650 and it works
just like that 😃 or you can use same programs that 7650 uses 😃
I had a demo of a 3650 a while back and the guys (nokia) were talking about being able to play back a full movie on the device..
You can encode a 90 min movie so that it takes about 100mb which is possible with a 128MMC card!

how would u do this? what software would be needed?
There are numerous programs out there that convert video to mpeg4! I cannot mention any names howver. But it goes like this. The mpge4 movies on your desktop are so big because of the big resolution and the good quality of sound. For a phone this is too much anyways. So reducing the resolution to lets say 170x170 and the sound quality to 45kbps a 90 min clip takes about 100mb space.
