Files in Z: are not "locked", but they're first of all read-only as the Z-drive is ROM (non-writable Read-Only Memory). That cannot be changed.

In addition, on devices based on Symbian 9, they're protected from reading by unprivileged apps (processes without the "AllFiles" capability in Symbian terms).

Here are the steps for unlocking a Nokia N70,
1 - Switch on your Nokia N70 without any sim card.
2 - Don't bother as to what is displayed on your Nokia N70.
3 - Compose #pw+CODE+1#.
4 - The Nokia N70 would then display the message "SIM Restriction Off" and will be unlocked!
