Tomtom and the gallery

Just wondering if it was normal to have a few tomtom images in the gallery such as POI symbols?

It's a bit annoying really, I would prefer to remove them from the gallery, but I can't see any options in the menu, and I'm worried deleting them would cause tomtom to cease functioning.

Does anybody know the solution?

make the tomtom folders hidden using Y-Browser or connect your phone up as a USB drive to your computer and do it through windows. The gallery dosen't look in hidden folders.

this problem has annoyed me since tomtom 5 on a 6680!

so, if you hide tomtom folders (and more importantly the map folder containing 30+ poi images) does tomtom still work ok?

-yes Ive just tried it now!!!
-i wish i knew this many moons back when i got my 6680! (previously i just put the date back on my computer and resaved them so they were all at the begining of the gallery!)
edit- some still showing in gallery, and some are just shown as blank! -will try to figure it out.
edit-deleted the _PAlbTN folder (that holds the thumbnails) from within the map folder -this got rid of the thumbnails and new thumbnails arent generated -just blank pictures are in place!
edit- rebooted and now back to some showing and some blank, _PAlbTN folder has reapeared in the map folder. (i think on the last step it was just taking time to regenerate them!).

for now i am giving up and sticking to having them saved as an old date.

I think the gallery has it's own database of images, so it'll try and re-generate them each time. One way is to rename the tomtom folders on the card just put an "X" infront of the name for the time being.

Launch the gallery, you should get a lot of blank thumbnails appear where it can't find the image. press "C" to delete the image, it will fail but the thumbnail will go from the list. Then rename the folders back and it should be sorted.

Hi,

Thanks for the tip about temporarily renaming folders the gallery had cached!

Gallery was starting to display thumbnails for map data files, voice files etc instead of the hidden images. Grrrr! All ok now.

hey,
can someone please tell me how to put an x in front of them, im probably missing something really stupid but when i rename it is just says "the operation could not be completed. please help as this is really annoying me.
thanks in advance
