A word of warning about those who have upgraded the FW on their E61... The hard format feature (back to factory) using *#7370# doesn't work, neither does the "Original Settings" dialogue do its job in Settings. At least, not on this unit. It worked before the FW update. Don't be decieved though as it leads you through the dialogue as if it's going to do it and asks for the code but when it reboots it hasn't done it - some of the settings have been returned to factory but all user data (i.e. Calendar entries and Contacts etc...) are still there and you don't get the Startup - asking about location etc...
The workaround is turn the unit off, hold Green (send) and 3 and * whilst turning on.
Sorry if this is old news but I thought I'd share as it had me a bit foxed!

But that's the NORMAL hard reset sequence. The #string was just something left over from previous devices and not really supported.

The point is, though, even laying that aside, there's a menu item which is supposed to do this in settings, which also doesn't work. And further the point is that both methods which are now not working *did so* before the FW update.

My E61 has been updated by myself. And the Hard reset works for me. I did once.
My FW is an Asia-Pacific Edition. I'm not sure whether it's due to this difference...
I've done it,We'll be able to perform 'reset' using *#7370# with latest FW.No problem!
