hanging on soft format

Hello -- I'm a new member, registering after a while lurking becuase I now have a major problem with my 3230.

This morning I had a panic over some a system error -1 when doing anything in Messaging. So after finding nothing on the net about this, I decided to do a soft format.

I read that your phone should be plugged in for it, so I did. But in my idiot panic, I just read over the battery requirements to do a soft format. I think I was around maybe half or even a third battery power.

So my phone was plugged into the charger, and I did the soft format. About a half-hour later, I was still stuck on a white screen with the Nokia logo. I had to leave the house, so my aphone is still on the charger, hopefully working its way through the reset.

Is there anything I can do? What happens if I did indeed screw up the soft format by not having adequate battery power? It's a software thing, so am I still able to go to a Nokia center and have it fixed?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

okay, it's been about 4 hours now, and it's still stuck on the white screen.

I'm thinking of heading out to the Nokia Care Center in a little while. Which means, I'll have to unplug my phone.

If anyone has any quick suggestions, I'd really appreciate it. If I do have to go to the Care Center, I think I have to do it here in Thailand, and I'm leaving in a few days. Unless I'm wrong, I don't think the US Nokia Care Centers will be able to service a 3230.

any help, please?

Get the battery out, leave it for 2 minutes and power on again. If it doesn't work, hit it with a hard reset (#)(3)(green)(power on)
