This happened to my N80. Nothing I did got it to go back on-line. The sim card worked in other phones so that wasn't the problem.
Orange did replace the handset eventually - after about a week while their engineers 'looked into it'.

The SIM connector might be dirty and the contact between connector and SIM card is imperfect. Clean both the connector and the SIM at regular intervals to avoid this kind of issues. You can also try with another SIM.

hi there.. than you all for youe insights.. however i am still stuck in offline mode. i have recently moved to the US from India and hence am unable to goto a nokia service store here as they say the fone only has warranty in india. sending the fone back to india to repair is gona b a headache. is there any wy that i can get this repaired in the US itself? please let me kno.. nokia should be sued over this "offline" issue.. ave tried everything from the forum.. resetting, hard boot etc.. still no luck.. plzzzz HELP!!

hi, have you used pheonix at all. i used it on my n70 then it was stuck in offline mode. i then used pheonix again and set the phone to normal mode, and now its fine

Hey ppl i too av d same problem as tj5 has mine is a N70 FW version 5.0609.2.0.1
i tried soft / hard formating it as well...now d only thing i can think of b4 i send it to a sevice center is to upgrade it to 5.0616 but i tried d official nokia updater but it always says upgrade failed....
is there any1 who can give us a solution to this problem b4 i spend $$money$$ at d serice center...
your opinions will b very well apreciated...

Am confused my Nokia 6700s is in offline and don't know what to do about it. For the past month it is in offline mode. Pl i need help am frustrated.
