"Installation security error. Unable to install"

In attempts to install "fexplorer" or other apps on my vodafone jpn branded 6680 each time I try I get the following error message "Installation security error. Unable to install" . I did > tools, app manager, software installation -changed to "on".
Still unable to install apps without certificate. Even some themes from Nokia web site.
Please help, does anyone know a way of preventing this that will allow all app installation?

I have heard this problem in 6680 phones from Vodafone Japan. For some reasons, they disable unsigned applications. I don't know why they are doing it.

There is a workaround with a software, but I cannot recall it (I will check it when I get home, I hope I still have the email). Basically the idea is to extract the contents of .sis file to a PC and then transfer all files to the memory card via USB memory card reader.

Thanks, that will be great! I use usb cable for installing applications (or rather trying to install). Of course, I tried installing from vodafone live (japanese version of gprs) but no results. Even couldn't make personal trusted site since there is no option for that.

Thank you all for your help, I have found something that works.
Seems there is a way to download and use applications after all...

There is a Japanese group that actually wrote an application for the 6630/6680. It is called Halwin.exe. You can find it here -- http://www.teamknox.com/Hal/Halj.html

Solution to install sis file on Vodafone Nokia 702NK and 702NK II (6630/6680)

1. First of all download HalWin
2. Open Halwin, then File, Open then find the sis file you want to install
then click Open
3. When HalWin asks which drive to install the app into, choose "E" if you want to
install it on MMC Card "C" if in Phone.
4. HalWin will create a folder "E" or/and "C" inside the directory where your sis file
is located
5. Open "E" folder copy System file
6. Next go to Nokia PC Suite. Make sure your phone is connected
via USB cable.
7. Click Start, My computer, Nokia Phone Browser, click your phone name( usually
Nokia 6630 ), then click E then Paste
Note: Ignore the error message
8. Same with the "C" folder follow 5 to 7 but in phone memory.

Important to install FExplorer when installing cracked file

Regarding everlasting question of UNLOCKING BB5 and other phones, it seems there is a gyu in Serbia who made 'box' for unlocking phones. His name is Dejan Kaljevic and you can google his name, but I found these info on GSM Forum. As far as I understood, you have to bring your phone to Serbia. Price is around 60 euros.

Does this work on the N73. I tried following the instructions but was not able to load any apps... :frown: If you know of another way I'd love to know.
