When I switch on my phone, I want it to look like this.

How do you change the settings.
I have only had the phone less then a day.
Also how do you take the battery out. I can't seem to budge it. 😡

Sorry dude...you cant
Take the back cover of, turn the phone so the screen is up and the battery is facing the floor, and tap the phone down against your hand, making sure your hand is under the battery to catch it..

Thanks.
I am a bit annoyed that you can't, the way they show the phone it's like that you can.
i don't get what you mean. isn't that what all N80 and in fact all symbian phone menus (nokia) look like? that's how mine is and has been since i've had it. are you talking about the grid menu instead of the list menu? if so while looking at the menu press options (left softkey)>change view>grid and it will make it look like the picture.
if i misunderstood then i'm an idiot.

My phone must be in a different mode.
I have 5 little icons at the top of the screen, but I want them like the photo I posted.
So what section do I go to.
I am a dummy when it comes to mobiles.

haha .. I think you are an idiot rudeboy (only joking)...I think what he means is that when he switches on his phone he wants the menu screen as default and not the desktop screen..thats how I read it..
I want my phone to look like the photo.
So I can access them easily.
Kazzo wrote:I want my phone to look like the photo. Can you post a picture of how your N80 looks now? If we can see a screenshot in its current state we'll be able to better understand what you want to achieve. So I can access them easily.

you cant do it from when you start the phone...you have to press the menu key to change from the desktop to the menu screen..second button from left on the bottom row of buttons below the screen.
Photo is not the best. OK it sucks.

Icons are
Optus Zoo, Contacts, Calendar, Web, Music Player, Gallery.
This is what I get when my phone is on.
Do what I say, press the menue button as explained in my last post..and you will get the screen you want ..you cant get this screen from startup..only after pressing the menu button ..

Your first screenshot shows an N80 in the system menu. There is no way that a S60 phone (like the N80) boots straight to the menu screen, you have to press the menu button.

thanks for that cash but when someone asks such an obscure question it's hard to know what to expect.
he said "I am a bit annoyed that you can't, the way they show the phone it's like that you can." i don't see how that pic can suggest that that's the standby screen but hey i'm an idiot!
i've had the n80 for abotu three weeks, and i find with teh dedicated camera button, the green button leading to log,the two softkeys, the multimedia key, and the 6 active standby options (plus the "no cal.entries shortcut that goes straight ot the calendar), that's 12 things you can get to pretty quickly. i think that's plenty, i don't see the need for the whole menu as there's the same amount of shortcuts in standby.

you are correct ..I cant see the need for having the menu screen on all the time when you only need to press one button to get there...also if you are on the menu screen all the time then you cant see date time signal strength, if you are connected to bluetooth, wifi gprs etc etc..
and i was only joking when I said you were an idiot 😉..
Thank you all it changed, I now know what button to press to get all the icons. 😃
I thought that all the icons would show when the phone started. :con?
