should i update, what is my phone?

hi there, i'm thinking of updating my nokia n80 with the latest firmware, as my friend did it and it worked fine. My main question is this. I bought my phone off ebay unlocked but when it arrived it came in vodafone packaging. Yet when i opened it the phone was unbranded in any way and the software seemed to be the default nokia one. There is no mention of vodafone anywhere apart from the box. Do vodafone do this now or is it in a different box ? If anyone could let me know that would be great! 😊

Go to a Nokia Service, and by IMEI they can check if this phone is a branded version or not.

thanks

If you go to the nokia update site and try to update your firmware...if you are able to update your firmware then you probably have a non network phone, if the updater says no updates available then you probebly have a branded phone...but if there is nothing on the phone, and when you switch on there is absolutely nothing to do woth Voda or any other network then I guess you have an unbranded phone..

There is no harm in trying anyway
