System Rush Evolution demo for S60 3rd Edition available for download

A demo of Nokia's upcoming next gen game System Rush Evolution is now available for download from the N93 software support page. It will install and run on other S60 3rd Edition phones, not just the N93. Unfortunately it's unplayably slow on the E61 I tested it on, presumably because the E61 doesn't have the N93's 3D graphics accelerator chip.

... and the obvious unanswered question for us N93 owners is, "is this the same version that came with our phone? Because we already have a SR:E demo".

The very same (and useful for an N93 owner, if you uninstall it and want it back).

As N/A said, it's probably for people who uninstall it but change their minds.

A surprising number of people do that with bundled apps, there's a thread on the 5500 forum where someone uninstalled the web browser and wanted it back!

The reason I posted a news story about this was because I managed to get it working on my E61 and it also works on other 3rd Editions like the N80, but it's always unplayably slow because only the N93 and N95 have 3D chips. It was just interesting that it worked slowly, and interesting that it requires the 3D chip to be playable, because it means we can expect a lot more 3D chip S60s early next year before they launch the next gen games service.

I just wish they'd post more demos of the upcoming games. All his hardware and so little software to show off with. "One:who's next" would suffice, for starters.

Well... the problem may be that some or all of the next gen games will require 3D hardware support, and so far the only models with 3D chips are the N93 (which included the SRE demo) and the N95 (which hasn't been released yet but which presumably will also include a demo).

Also, the next gen launch is probably still several months away, all we know is that it's some time in the first half of 2007.

I think they should take their time and get a good lineup of games for the launch, because one of the biggest weaknesses of the original N-gage was its very weak launch lineup, it was entirely ports of games from other systems with nothing original at all.

bah i have n73 and brought it also for gaming! and now I see its kinda week 😞
I searching for someone who wanna trade with me his n93, do you think I should? and how much money should I add if it is :| and how big is it o0
