N80 updated to v4.0623.0.42!

Hiho,

Playing around with my N80 (v4.0623.0.41), I set it off to look for updates from the device manager.
It found a new one and downloaded it, so I istalled it and it's a new version! Only .42 (20/9/2006) now, but interesting as it worked just fine!

Just tried it, and response was No Updates Available.

What's your FW variant & Product Type?
Mine is Euro Pearl Black 1 in the Phoenix product selection screen.

Mine is "Country Variant PB" and now shows

V 4.0623.0.42

Nokia N80 (58.01)

I still haven'y worked out what the 58.01 is all about, but there you go!

Thanks for the reply. Guess I'll just have to wait for my variant's upgrade to be released.

Any new features appeared on your N80 since you upgraded?

There's me just updated my phone today with Euro 1 Pearl Black! My firmware was originally 58.01 but now it's just 01. Is 58.01 a Network? Or is it just UK Sim Free instead of Euro Sim Free?

From what I've read, 58.01 is UK generic (or UK sim free) as opposed to 01 which is euro generic.

08 is an Arabic version, still includes western english and a few other lanquages, you obviously followed the old dogtoe guide to the letter

European sim free versions are 01 or 02, or uk sim free variant is 58.01

Personally I would install the the euro 01 or 02 as updates are released earlier than the UK 58.01

v4.0623.0.42 is a minor update to v4.0623.0.41 released on the 20/09/06

It included 58.01 and several other variants that had not previously been covered by v4.0623.0.41, there are no changes/additions to the firmware itself.

Me too! Strange though as literally 5 mins before I found this in device manager I had just updated to .41 via NSU!!

Weird! Don't get why it didn't just update to .42. I was on 3.0617.0.6 before.

I have a N80 UK CV PB and had 0.614 (58.01). Yesterday I have upgrade sw via NSU and the .41 (58.01) has installed...

Excuse me for my engish but i'm italian.
