Email options with Lotus Notes

I believe that you can use email on the P800 either by using SyncML or Lotus Mobile Notes -- can both be done via wireless? What are the pros and cons of both (I know you need Domino Everyplace for the latter, right?)

Thanks.

Doug

I dont understand what you are asking either but this is what you can do as far as I have understood it.

You can use syncML so if you want to get mail that way, no problem
You can sync the phone with your lotus or outlook if you like, so you can get your mail that way. (this is done over cabel with the dongle that comes with the phone, with ir or with BT I think)
You can just use pop3 and download the mail directly to the phone useing a dialup or gprs account.
So basicly there are alot of ways to get the your mails to you p800

Hope one of them answer your question

The P800 syncs straight with your Notes account when you connect it to you PC and are logged on to Notes. You can also (as the guys already said) connect to your Domino server using POP3 - or you can use IMAP and get your mail.

Lotus Everyplace is a Domino server based product so you can connect your PDA direct to the server...and hopefully get better integration than what other vendors can give you. Also you are on about "Lotus Mobile Notes" which is part of Everyplace...and I have already been on about that. I think you have mixed up the concepts.

Buy your P800 and get started - you don't need to complicate it.

Best of luck

Greetings again,

In my previous mesage I said that you complicated things...perhaps you don't. Having worked with the sync. software that comes with the phone I have started to look for updates etc. The software is NOT GOOD and it frequently misbehaves. I hope (as many others in this forum) that we soon see an updated version of the software.

"Mobile Notes" is (if I understood it correct) the client version. This installs in the phone BUT it requires a Domino Everyplace Server to log on to in order to sync. Most probably this will work thousand times better...but it will also be thousands more expensive...
Good hunting

As far as I understand, this is how Mobile Notes and Domino Everyplace is connected with Domino/Notes:
Domino Everyplace Access - this is a server based product that acts like a WAP server, so that you can access mail and calendar from any mobile WAP device. I use this product myself, and it works very well even with a simple T39, and is excellent with the P800. However, attached files are not visible.
Mobile Notes - this is a client that runs on the phone or PDA. It makes it possible to work with and replicate Notes databases. You need the Domino Everyplace Enterprise installed on your server. You do not get access to your mail locally with this client, at least this is how I understood it (have only tried this product briefly as an evalution). I'm looking forward to seeing this client on the P800, anyone have any news on this?
