Is this to be my new home?

For many years, I've been living happily in the UIQ forum, having happily owned the Sony Ericsson P800, P900 and P910i. I have just rejected my second P990 as it is nearly useless. Instead, I am the proud owner of a Nokia N93.

Now, do I get my own bedroom or do I have to sleep on somebody's floor?

Heh - I think you're probably entitled to a bedroom transfer. Look behind the cupboard and you find a door leading to S60 Alley.

Hooray, a new kid on the block!
This place needs a lot more activity and soaring postcounts. Compared to N80 owners, N93 owners are one silent bunch, lemmetellyah. Maybe we're just not as many yet...

Had my N93 for a couple of weeks now, and am loving it more for every day.
Gave up on waiting for a P990i and sent back my Nokia N80 after having two that died in my hands. Took 3 months and countless mail and phone calls for Nokia Customer Care(?) to fix that for me. So Nokia isn't always dandy...but this phone is kick ass.

Three groans, up for discussion:

1. Want to update firmware over Nokia's site NOW. As far as I can tell all N-series are up there now, except our baby. Memory management needs fixes.

2. Keypad seems restricted to one key press at a time! Is it fixable or did they go the cheap road and give us a lame keypad (which otherwise is great)?

3. Want to see some more cool software or demos that pushes this thing to its limits. We're alone in the Nokia family with that fast CPU and 3D support. Showing off to friends must be maintained!

Oh, and...er...welcome!

I think (hope) I'll be joining you soon.

Like RB I've been living on UIQ for a while but I just don't fancy the P990 - and my P900 is looking distinctly secondhand and secondrate.

I went down the N80 and now and N93 route after giving up waiting on the P990,

So far so good, you can play with the movies, i like the stills camera and the connectivity, as a certain magazine put it, the N93 is the ultimate convergence phone at the moment.

And it works well on 3g on the Isle of Man since our local provider switched on the 3g calling and data services in September

Funny how many have lost faith in P990i. I'm one of those who've been spending hours reading about it since october last year when it was announced. Now it turns out to be a sweet phone, but not what I hyped it to be. It's still not stable, for instance. And even though its large touch screen is nice, the resolution is not higher than what's in the N93.

It also bring me great joy to know that the N93 kicks P990i's a** in performance benchmarks, due to its faster CPU. 😃

Be careful what you ask for 😊.

I already had a pre-series model for a couple weeks for reviewing purposes, but I had to send it back. It's the first phone I've ever gotten emotionally attached to - I almost shed a tear when I put it in the box and wrapped it up for mailing!

But my new N93 should be with me in a few days. Once I get it, I'll install the new firmware, and then I'll start shooting - nobody uses this cool gadget for mundane activities like taking phone calls, right?
