Hi,
Ive had the N80 for some time now, just have a few questions regarding it:
1) I have sucessfully installed tomtom 6 on the n80, everything is perfect beside the fact that for the postal code search it wont let me type in letters, just numbers!!..any work around?
2) I was wondering is there a program that will use the gps to let me know how far i have travelled. (i do a lot of running!)
3) is there a stopwatch program that i can download for free?!?
4) can anyone recommend a replacement for media player on the n80, when in shuffle mode, some songs come out a long more frequently than others?
Many thanks...

GETrack.jar, Its about 10, but theres a trial available. just search Google.
Basically it sits there recording the GPS info, and then exports as a Google Earth .KML file.
Load this into Google Earth on your PC, and it draws your exact path onto the sattelite photos, and you can playback your journey, flying above it in 3D etc. It shows the total journey distance on the left, and also shows speeds at various intervals.
Unfortuanatly this does not show you distance travelled on the handset.. So im guessing is not exactly what you need! (But it is good to be able to look at your jogging trail or whatever on google earth!)
There is a Hidden GPS App built into the N80 called Navigator. This program doesnt handle maps, but shows average speed, current speed, heading, and distance travelled, amongst other info, in a nice looking app. This i believe would be perfect for what you want...
Unfortuanatly, its hidden bcause nokia decided not to release it in the final build. God knows why. If you search back on this forum, you will find instructions on how to start the program. But you need extra software, TaskMan i think its called, and its only a 15 day trial. Using this software, you can run the Navigator app. Hook it up to your GPS device and off you go...
Hope this info helped!

Looks like this app would do aswell, again, doesnt handle maps, but will draw your track on a blank page, and show you total distance / speed.
Although looks like it only handles Km, not miles... and barely any settings.
Theres a free trial available, and its very cheap if you do buy it!
Tried Navigator...i wasnt impressed...the program that you recommended is pretty good though. its just a shame theres not more freeware for this phone
thanks
Might also be worth looking at http://free.3dtracking.net/home.aspx - they do a free Symbian application for updating the tracking data..
You say that now...
When i first got this phone, went straight onto internet trying to get programs for it.... there was about 2 apps available... both cost alot, and absolutley no freeware!
But over the past few months more and mor developers have been designing apps for S60 v3 and theres loads showing up every day. Just have to look in the right places.
http://www.series60v3.com/ Is a great site for freeware.

Ive never had the problem you describe, the issues i have seen are that tomtom doesnt use the standard text input (it does it in its own way so you cant copy and paste etc from other apps) -i was hoping they would have sorted that for tt6, basically to get a number you have to press the key x amount of times (eg4) (pressing and holding rolls though the digits too quick), but you say you have numbers not letters -i dont know about that.
also make sure you have the correct files for the postcode search, you need a seperate folder called zip in the root, if thats not there its not going to work! see this topic
I'm having the same N80 and Post Code problem. The program hangs and crashes when I try to press "A" twice, i.e. to get the letter "B".
It probably does the same with others. Any fixes or ideas?
Cheers
Mike
