a friend asked me if he could use his phone to connect his laptop to the internet while he is away, i said i think you can but im not 100% sure on how to do it so does anyone here know what to do?

That shouldnt be a problem. Just install Nokia PC suite and connect to the phone via bluetooth or usb cable. Open pc suite, and there you will see an option says something about "connect to internet" or "use phone as modem".

Yeah... and not a nice one...😡

If you're going to do it, I'd use a text based browser that doesn't download images and don't download anything other than web pages. For emails just download the headers.

I've learnt to my cost (20 in one session!) that using a PC via your mobile with todays Internet requirements is extremely expensive!

Now on the N80 you do have a WiFi option and you could connect to a public access WiFi which would be much cheaper (if not free in some cases). I don't know if you can use the N80 as a modem for a PC via WiFi though.

One of the primary reasons I got the N80 was for cheaper Internet use through WiFi though I don't need a PC for it as the phone's own mail client and browser is fine enough. I'll likely use it a lot overseas in hotels that have free WiFi.
