Upgrade firmware - will it affect protected files?

Hi all.

I got my n80 back in June so it's the really buggy version. I really want to upgrade the firmware, but I've used it to download music videos worth 1 a time, which are protected to only play on this phone. It was free to get them as I get 5 worth included in my monthly allowance, but I'm worried that if I upgrade the firmware (backing up everything obviously), when I put all the files back they won't be allowed to play. Does anyone know? Thanks.

hmmm, maybe they only play on that phone because they are somehow tied to the IMEI? if thats the case then it should be ok

yes they will i found this out but if you back up the key then you should be fine

just remeber that they do not use ime to work they use a key if you back the key up it will work

ah ok. thanks jaffa-cake and gyix for your replies. gyix - how do i back up the key please? not sure where it's located. . . thanks
