My pop email is starting to fill my e61. When I now click on the main screen link it jumps straight back to the main screen after 1/2 second. I think it is running out of memory to load the emails or something but there are only 42 header only emails so that doesn't make sense. Is there a way of finding out what the e61 is concerned about. for example a /var/log/syslog type of thing?
Happy to diagnose/fix this, just need help, links, urls whatever.
TIA
Stu
Mine will do that if it still has an active data connection open from the last email download.
It may not be the same problem, but, go into active connections, and if there's a connection open, close it, and then try to go into your inbox again.

Thanks Ventmore but...
This fails regardless of whether I am connected or not.
Is there any option that tells me why it failed?
ie a back end system log or diagnostic tool?
It's annoying as email is the main reason for purchasing an E61 but if it maxes out at 42 emails I'm afraid that I will have to return it as defective. I mean it's not really an email-capable phone if this is a limitation.
Not sure about the log mate, but I can tell you that I have arounf 80 emails in on my device at the mo, and my mailbox loads just fine.
Come to think of it, I have seen this problem a lot less since I set it to download the first 2kb of each emai instead of just the headers. Could be worth a try. If you can't even get in to change the settings, then I suggest switching the phone off and back on. If all else fails, I think it'll be time for a hard reset 😞
Cheers

No there isn't anything like that in S60. S60 isn't at all a geeky OS unfortunately. So when something goes wrong, at best you get a more or less useless error message and at worst you get nothing, it just fails and you don't know why.

That won't help to solve your problem but i can tell you that i've got more than 400 emails in my inbox at the moment and haven't encounter any such problem with messaging, neither with the first firmware, nor with the second one.
If you've just bought your phone and haven't yet installed too much things on it, it might be worth trying to do a hard reset and starting from scratch again. If the problem is still there, then you might have a faulty unit.
