Using the E61, but I supposed this is applicable to all the smartphone.
Is there a way to call from a Todo, Calendar or Note Entry?
E.g.
I created a Todo entry: Call Dave 9876543210
But in order to call Dave I can't just copy the number and paste it to the main screen.
I need to go to the main screen and manually key in 9876543210 to make the call.
Any tips to work around that?
Maybe with third part SW. Right now, I think that SW doesnt exist...

I didn't find a reasonable way to do this. I find this inacceptable for a smartphone/PDA-phone.
A workaround is to create a new contact, copy/paste the number and then dial from contacts - but this is tedious and creates unwanted contact entries. It is even worse when looking up numbers on the web. No way of copy/pasting numbers from the browser. :icon13:
This is one of the many reasons why I hope the Treo 750 holds its promise (though far from sure yet e.g. regarding radio quality).
Actually there are a lot of limitation to what the E61 can do. I do think that this is an interim phone until something better comes along.
The 750v holds a lot of promise, I used to not care about wifi, but with Singapore rolling out island wide free wifi. It have become a big factor. Still have to stick with E61 for a while more.

Not with the builtin apps. Papyrus allows you to add a number to call in a calendar entry, but in my testing when I selected the option to call number it crashed on me. Didn't try it again afterwards because it's clearly not ready yet (see the numerous bug reports elsewhere in this forum).
On my E50, all phone numbers and email addresses are automatically highlighted, and can be selected to call. If yours don't have this feature, it will most likely come in a firmware/software update shortly.

OK there is a way to do it but you need to use a "meeting" entry as that's the only one that allows you to add a note description. So create your entry then "add description" and type in a phone number. When you next view the entry, click into the description and your phone number(s) will be highlighted, as well as email addresses and websites.
Try AquaCalendar - http://www.pockettorch.net/
It's a 3rd party SW like Papirus but much more convenient for me.
Could set a reminder to call certain contact. When you go into this reminder then in "Options" you can choose "Contact"-->"Call" and you are redirected to the given contact.

Hi desertrat,
Add contact support and "call from item" are the two things I am now working for version 1.2.06
This is implemented for phones running OS 8 and lower, but this next update is for OS 9.1 phones.
Besides that,
Papyrus has come a long way since the initial 1.2 release for OS 9.1 phones.
We've just released a new version - 1.2.05 which you can read about here:

Wirelessly posted (Nokia E61: Mozilla/5.0 (SymbianOS/9.1; U; en-us) AppleWebKit/413 (KHTML, like Gecko) Safari/413 es61)
I own both Aquacalender and Papyrus, and advise to stay well clear of Aqua. papyrus is much faster to navigate for me and you dont have to spend lots of time cleaning up the UI.
The Aqua version I tried on my E61 came with a two color (fading between them) scheme making text harder to read and resetting all the views to something sensible took ages.
Papyrus has a much cleaner interface with just the info you need. aqua may have more features, but it is slow to use and a bit confusing. if I had only one option, I would still use Aqua over the Nokia PIM though.
Aqua has improves over the last months, but I have yet to hear from anyone that prefers the look and feel of Aqua over Papyrus.
I am sure, that Aqua has the potential to improve in the future..
