No memory inserted !

I do format my memory with a card reader ... and then when I insert it into N70 it reports that No memory inserted ! any idea ?
:frown:

Without removing the card, With power off button, do a remove card. If the phone detects the card, format inside of phone. If not, format on card reader with FAT format - not FAT 32 or NTFS, only with FAT.

Do a format outside that phone. Or on another phone or on a card reader, with FAT selection.

I think I said that I do format my card with a card reader and of course with FAT selection. It performs normally in the card reader as a drive but when it is inserted in the phone the problem is started ...

Yea... sorry! And try the card on another phone, it works? Is rare, but could be a damaged card.

No... all that trouble and is not a DV card🙄

I think there might be some hidden files on a standard formatted card and I most find them and copy them to the card to make it recognizeable by the phone. I have the same problem with a 1GB Memory stick pro in a SONY cybershot P-150. any idea ?

nj, when you'll get to work a normal RS MMC in a N70, I will kiss my own ass.

If You undestand what I post and moderate the language, i may explain what I post😡

You should explain your posts? Now that's a thing to consider. When you post to help someone, post understandable for everybody, not just for you. Or do you post just because you like posting?

@parva - If that's a new card, check it into a phone which supports both voltages (1.8 and 3.3 V) like 6600, 7610, 6670 or some older stuff. If the card works in one of theese phones, it means that your MMC is not DV, more exactly cannot operate at 1.8 V and you need to take it back and change it with a DV one.

At least You undestand what I said. Is a regular DV card:icon14: . So like I said, could be, a damaged card. If is already tested on N70 and work, and now, dont, could be damaged:frown:

May be it is due to my bad english that I can not describe the situation. The card is a dual voltage and it worked normally on my N70. As soon as I format the card with a card reader on Windos Xp, my N70 can not recognize it. Of course, now it works well in my card reader. I suppose that during formating with the card reader some hidden files are lost that might be on memory card to make it recognizable by N70.

I may have the same problem as You... All new cards, usually are sell formated, not by one phone, but for all phones. So, when You have a formated card, the phone must recognize that. But, N70 works only with FAT (FAT16) format. Windows 2000 or XP, works with FAT32 and NTFS format. When a FAT16 format is donne by windows, the card must be read by the phone, and there isnt any hidden files on a new formated card. After that, said generic card, go to N70, if the phone recognize the card, then it creates the folder structure of Symbian phones, and some of them, are hidden. 1.. assure You donne a FAT16 format; 2. the phone must read that card. Even if the card is not formated, the phone must recognize that, and prompt for do a format inside phone. If nothing that happens... its dfficult to said why?
