I took my n80 to local nokia dealer who flashed v 4 firmware for me no prob.
I thought this would solve my sip problems but my techcnical advisor tells me although there is sip fuctionality , it lacks a front end to be able to make viop calls.
Good news i phoned my nokia dealer and explained the situation and he told me version 5 will be out in 2 weeks hopefully with sip front end .
can anybody confirm this ?
whats this sip front end stuff your talkin about mate? Cool there is v5 coming, i still think the current version is a bit dodgy...still slow. Thanks for the info though!
the sip frontend is just some kind of voice over ip client, the phone always supported sip, but there has never been any software to utilize it, if this guys correct, then we'll see a voip app with the new firmware, yay.
If it's anything like the E60 it will be builtin to the existing Phonebook app. There are already options for Internet Phone number but these try and launch the PTT app right now.
Perhaps v.5 will have all the extra goodies that the new N80 Internet Edition has.
Here's hoping.
What are they?
Any news on when it is out the V5 firmware?

The firmware should be updated to the same as the Internet Edition, it is certainly possible to flash the Internet Edition firmware on an N80
According to my nokia centre it should be out this week sometime
@dalecompusat
Could you please ask them if there is any change in camera "engine".
