Hi all,
I'm experiencing problems with my backup (from the phone) for the last 2 weeks. Tha feact is that I start the backup process and before finishing I see a message saying that "problems with memory space" and the backup does not finish properly. WHy?. I have more than 330 Mb free in my SD so I assume that the problem is not there.
I had not had any problems before and I suspect that some applications installed since then are causing the problem. But the problem is that I don't know which one.
Any help?
Best regards,
Talonso
P.S: I have FW v3 but it shouldn't affect since it was working for months without problems.
Why, not sure. But it happens, a lot of times. Reboot the phone, try again. Doesnt work, reset phone... next step, soft format and finally an hard format. See if You have the last firmware inside.

I've done all you mention except the HR. If I do it, how will I restoire my backup?. That's the problem.
About the FW version, I said that I don't have it and that's not the problem at all since it was working for months with that FW without problems.
Any more reference?

Firmware version does matter. I had the same problem with the 3.x firmware. The problem has something to do with how much of your phone memory is in use (that, or some application is causing it). Try removing some applications / freeing up phone memory, thats how I managed to fix it. And get that firmware updated. Version 4 has many backup-related fixes.
The best backup is phone memory backup to the card. But even that could fail, use also PCSuite, and do a Backup to PC and with Outlook, make a sync before touch the phone. And do the firmware upgrade, it solve a lot of things.
I had the very same problem when i was going from v3 to v4 firmware.. Was on v3 and couldnt backup to mem card, even though i had an empty 2Gb card lol, kept getting out of memory problem... Had read also it was more a out of phone memory, but that meant deleting lots of installs, which i tried but never really worked... Also kinda defeated the purpose of a backup if you have to uninstall everything to backup.. zzzz...
Anyways, as a work around, all i really wanted was to keep my contacts, so i copied all my contacts to my SIM card, then updated to v4, and copied them all back from SIM to phone...
ut.
