AAAAARRGGGHHHH. Sorry about that. Can anyone help me complete level d (sidewinder) on the new repton game. Can't get past that t***t of a monster at the far right of the maze and collect all my pretty diamonds. Who does he think he is?. Any answers would be greatly appreciated. Other than that what a cool game. It takes me back to when games were games. Non of this x-box & PS2 nonsense!
REPTON.......HELP!
It's a matter of wponce you grab the key, run through and past the cracked egg to the two diamonds in the far left hand room. You should be able to grab the bottom diamond and keep moving down without getting caught. Let the critter follow you back into the previous room, then double back so he follows you back again into the far left room.
Run to the very top of the screen. Up there you'll find a rock supported by a solitary line of dirt. Position yourself underneath that rock. Once the critter catches up to you he'll be underneath you. Step out the way, and voila! no more critter and grab all the diamonds you can!
Thanks alot. Killed the critter so the quest for diamonds continues!
If you nip along to Masabi you'll be able to see the full map as a gif on yuor PC screen - much more useful for working out stuff like the above than on the 7650 screen.
Oh and Repton fans should put Monday December 16th in their diaries. There may be somethign Christmassy happening...
On level Giant Clam, can't manage to shrug off the three monsters so i can collect my stones. Tried leading two of them into the maze beneath, then starting my next life with just one at the top amongst all those diamonds. Not had much look so far and its getting pretty frustrating again. Can someone tell me if i'm on the right track or do i go about it a different way? Cheers.
Ignore all the diamonds in the top half. Dive straight for the entrance into the maze. Now wait just under the first overhang until all three critters are above you. A little sidestep should lure one of them into the passage, and you can then run in, dropping the first rock onto the following critter. That rock blocks the other monsters getting in.
Clear the bottom left area first. You'll then find the two remaining critters in the passage trying to get closer to you (which they can't). Clear the bottom half of the area, and the last diamond collected will drop a boulder on your head.
With your new life, you can happily collect the diamonds in the top half - and if you do it from right to left, then the last two critters will stay happily in the passage while you finish the level.
Frustrating but still keeps you coming back for more.
Hammerhead; first screen....... is there way of collecting the stones whilst leaving the boulders in a position whereas you can still move when you return to that first spot if you are killed? At the mo trying to complete the whole level without dying or leaving boulders where they block the stones from being collected...... no luck yet though.
i wish i'd thought of that giant clam idea 😮ops:
i did manage to do it top first in the end but it wasn't easy - had to clear the diamonds in long straight runs and be pretty quick on the joystick. i'm sure it was much easier on the bbc!
i think hammerhead has to be done in one life - possible but takes a while...
After returning from a few weeks in the sun with only the final level Kraken to complete and a long dark january ahead things were looking pretty bleak. But then to return and find out that i've three more xmas levels to complete makes everything all right again. Merry xmas Masabi. Repton's has taken over my life over the last month or so and i thought that was all coming to an end. May our relationship last just a while longer.
Are there any dates planned for release of extra levels?
Masabi have big plans for Repton. At some point Quarter 1 (ie before March) they will be releasing "Mobile Repton." This is a differnet concept for games (and buying games). Once you download Mobile Repton for free, you purchase 'level packs' of 8 levels at a time (or individually, it's still not clear) and download them via a Wap server.
At launch, they have around 120 levels available to play - everything Repton 3 had basically.
You also get a web editor for designing and uploading your own levels for yourself and other people.
I'm part of the beta test, and I am so Repton'ed over teh Xmas holidays I know you guys ar ein for a treat when you see it.
Oh and online high scores, stats, leauge tables to play against other Repton players Around the World... seesh they may even get a 'recommended' from Ewan at this rate.
Sounds really COOL !!! 😃
Can't wait for that one. especially those online high scores, stats and others.
Masabi is good 😃
I just can't unravel hammerhead, I guess it has to be done in one go but there jyst doesn't seem to be time. Does anything grant you extra time or is it a case of finding a way to stop getting trapped after being killed.
