I am sure I read somewhere that you are able to change the order of the icons, and completely tailor the way it looks .... is this right?

Sure. Menu - Options - Move or Move to folder. The way they look, by themes.

There�s no need. Could be on-line. But software is a matter of personal taste...
Some free sugestion: Oggplayer, Divx player (more or less the built-in Real Player), Games (lot of them free - on getjar.com) ,Autolock, Contact Transfer, Hier / eMSN / QuickIM, M/Weather, Map 24 Mobile, Mobile Gmaps, Metro, Mobile Reader, Opera Mini, QReader, Screen Shot, Nokia Search, Y-Browser or Sys Explorer, Yahoo Go.
And the not free ones, like a GPS Navigator (Tomtom is the one I know and like most - I know that one well from a friend on N70), Handy Clock - see the review on this site (I think is on this site), Alon Mp3 (save voice without limitation of time).
Now for PC - SUPER from eRightsoft - to make the Real Player movies or to Divx and of course the Nokia PCSuite and Nokia Software Updater (not yet for N73).
