2 simple N73 questions

1. Why when i receive an sms the name doesnt come next to it , it only say's 1 message received.

2. When the phone is on the screen saver and the screen light goes off , is there a button i could press that would light the screen up so i could just see the screen saver bar to see if i have any missed calls/sms??
without going into the os?

I have the most recent firmware update.

1. The notification is like that. When You enter to read, the name is there, if it is on memory.
2. Yes - Power button, with a simple touch.
