Active Desk Lite - Anyone interested?

Hi,

I am toying with the idea of launching an Active Desk Lite. This would basicly be the AD Scheduler on its own and maybe the auto-launch features and would retail for somewhere about 10-15USD. I would not release it until there was full IMAP support also in the Scheduler.

I would like some feedback on whether there would be interest in this from users who do not want to spend 25USD on the full product and who maybe don't see the need for the Outlook today style view.

Thanks,
Garry.

I think that this may be a good idea since it always a good idea to provide users with the choice.

There should perhaps be a mechanism to upgrade between the two.

I suspect that most people willing to pay $15 would be willing to pay the extra $10 required for the full version, afterall the majority of 9210 owners will be availble to afford something at that price cost.

Rafe,

Yes, I agree the ability to upgrade would be important. I would also plan for full AD license keys to work on AD lite. I think that would be fair - they have paid for the functionality anyway.

Tanker - I think that waht ActiveDesk is saying the key for thr full version would work on the lite version since they've already paid for it.

Seems like a good idea, but I have to say some sort of general scheduling app might be very popular. I remember on ER5 this with a combination of macros was probably the most popular software around.

Here's a crazy idea. Could you do the lite version as a base, that you could put addons into, so you could buy the base and the parts you want, and configure the app to have just the bits you want/need. That way when bits are upgraded, you only download a new section.
