hey everyone.
ive had a nokia n70 for about a month now and about a week after i got it whenever i opened the camera slider in the back, sometimes when im using the camera it will randomly just shut off the camera app and return to the standby screen. I dont know why this is happening but i really want to get it fixed. My firmware version is 5.0616.2.0.3 24-04-06 RM 84. I already did a hard reset but nothing is working. Please help!
nokia n70 camera app keeps closing. please help!
You might have some trouble with the slider button. You can find it on the right side of the battery. Try to take some pictures/video without the back lid.
i just tried that and while holding down the slider button without the cover, it worked fine. To fix it when i put the slider back on what should i do?
Maybe the lid doesn't press that button as it should. The part which triggers the button is on the left side of the lid as you look at it from the inside. In the video attached is the white little part. That's the piece which makes allt he trouble. Do you have the original casing?
I should have the original casing, I ordered it and it was sealed and everything was new. Also, I tried it with my friend's n70 cover, and it still had the problem. But on his phone, it works fine. There doesnt seem to be anything wrong with my cover too.
Then the button is making all this trouble. Go to a service and change it or try to reapir it.
ok, do you think they would repair it for me in the U.S because I called them about this and they said they don't support the n70
Honestly, I don't know. In Romania (where I am from) we have some phone service centers which are repairing/unloking/reflashing almost any kind of phone and believe me, this button issue is a simple one. If this happened to me, more than probably that I would have tried to repair it by myself, even though the warranty is still valid. The problem with the warranty is that is limited to some problems that can hardly happen and it would cost more money to wait a week or two for the phone to come than repair it by myself or taking it to an "unauthorized" service.
ok, if i tried to fix it myself, should i just try to attatch a little piece of something kinda thick on the button so it makes the button go down more, or should i try to open it up and see it from inside?
The first variant would be better, but if the button was not soldered properly and the contact between it and PCB is hot made, then you need to open it. The thing is you might not be able to solder it back though.
ok, i put a small piece of cardboard with some tape and it worked fine, but the cardboard was too thick so the cover couldnt slide all the way, and tape wont stick that well. How do you think I should attatch something to the button and what material would you think is best?
