Does anyone know any mobile stores in ITALY?

You will be wasting money P800 is completly preordered, will be available in very small quantities, and be out with a NetLock or SimLock so you will not be able to use it with your SIM.

I have relatives in Italy that could buy me a P800 and then mail it to me but because of the above I will have to wait for the release of unbranded/unlocked units there or somewhere else.
Beside you would not get the CD with the top 50 applications (probably only demo versions) from the "Procalamation" contest that will be available only starting 17-jan.

Well, if you did want to go and get it, you can go to just about any TIM (Telecom Italia Mobile) shop. Your best bet is the one in DaVinci airport (terminal A) or in Roma Termini train station. Here's a list of TIM stores in Milano & Roma (sorry, but it's only in italian):

Was thinking of going there to do this myself--and visit some friends for Christmas, too 😊 --but then figured that the phones would be locked and that it would be a bigger pain in the ass than to wait for it to come out in quantity.

Tipically phone sold in italy never was simlocked. You can find just some profile (tipically internet/wap connections) locked, but you have the capability to add other personalized profiles.

I don't have notice about P800 sim locked sold in Italy. I just know the first P800 will be out here with TIM, with a sw version with some preset, yes, but sim free. Hope this can help you!

The word--both officially & unofficially--is that there's going to be very little initial stock on the handsets, so I doubt you'd simply walk into the TIM shop @ DaVinci airport & say, "Per favore, da me un P800, grazie." The presales orders may not even be filled by the initial handsets that get released.

Ciao Guys,

I want to clarify some thing , the first 5000 pieces of P800 will be out very soon in Italy and you can find it in some shops. As many mobile phone P800 will be not Simlocked because in Italy don't want it at all , nd as Gino say most probably pre-configure with TIM configuration but as I know you can choose the country you want (because I have one for the italian market already) but I have keep it in english so everything is fine.
The only problem is that most probably will be very hard to find it ...anyway if somebody want it just post me a note...
Ah I forget that the first release of the mobile in any case will be not branded with TIM logo because they was in a hurry 😊

just the name of the mobile company, plus the ".it" suffix... in milan the P800 is sold out, and i think it's the same all over italy. there was a lot of waiting for it... anyway, try to call that shops, or send emails to them to ask for a P800. it's not simlocked, but just pre-configured. it's a beast! non voglio fare pubblicit� a nessuno, ma solo aiutare chi, come noi, aspetta il P800 da mesi. averlo non significa non aiutare pi� nessuno...
