I just cannot for the life of me connect via WiFi. I've typed my N80 MAC code into the router yet the N80 still says no enabled WLAN networks are in range. How the hecky thump do I do this? :con?

How is your router setup?
- Hidden / Broadcasting SSID?
- Encryption (WEP, WPA or WPA2) or none?
- MAC Authentication on or off?
Usually you can simply add the router as an Access Point on the N80 using the Tools - Settings - Connection - Access Points menu.

Where did you get the MAC code of your N80 from? I have heard that the N80 sometimes displays the code incorrectly.
As TazUK correctly stated, try the following (temporarily) on your router:-
Set Routter SSID to Public/Shown (i.e. not hidden)
Disable encryption (or switch to WPA with PSK)
Once the N80 successfully connects to the router, try to auto-detect the N80's MAC using the router's Access list screen, and compare with the one you manually added.
Hope this helps.

I've managed to get the network to show in the avail. WLAN list but when I try to 'define access point' it says "define access points for secure WLAN networks in 'access points' in connection settings. I've been there and entered everything but it keeps giving me this same message. This is soooo frustrating! Any help GRATEFULLY received. :con?
The MAC address is shown if you "dial" *#MAC WLAN# ( same as *#62209526# ) on the standby screen (where you'd type a number to make a phone call).
It should also be printed in the label/sticker under the battery.
Well wadya know! I've sorted it!:icon14: 😮 😊
Just one thing though, if I've had this much bother logging onto a network that I own and have control over, how the devil am I going to 'browse for free' on a hotspot etc? After all the bother I've had, accessing without typing any bumf into my phone seems like a fantasy!

EasyWLAN functionality should cover that. Simply set your relevant internet utilities (web browser, email client, etc) to prompt you to select a connection on launch and then choose the "Search for WLAN" option. Any visible networks are shown with strength and security icons (as appropriate) and you simply select the one you wish to try to connect to - piece of cake really.
