Master Reset not working...

4 replies · 5,176 views · Started 31 October 2006

The combo (*)(3)(green)(turn on) doesn't work on my 3230 ...
I tried also (#)(3)(green)(turn on) just to be sure I didn't misunderstand, but it didn't work either

it turns on normally, asking me the PIN and everything is ... normal

the charger is plugged in to prevent battery depletion during the process...

i wanted to try deep formatting it before reverting to customer service (as after a few minutes of operation, the screen goes white with a tiny flashing stripe of pixels in the upper part of it)

tried *#7370# providing the mastercode, just the settings resetted

any suggestion ?

Try again. It should work, but it might be really difficult to get it to work (make sure the three keys are kept pressed completely down, when you turn on the power, and do not release them until the power comes on).

Yeah, you need to keep all the keys pressed for about 5-8 seconds. Ask a friend to help you.

alright, i'll retry so.

it actually IS (*)(3)(green)(power on) all at once, power btn being the last... am I right ??

BTW thanks 4 the replies

UPDATE: Tried several times, still doesn't work ... do I need to insert the SIM card ? it keeps asking "insert sim card" over and over .... damned piece of junk

I don't know if the SIM needs to be present in the phone, but when I did the reset my SIM was inside. The only thing I pulled out was the card, although the hard reset has nothing to do with it. Anyway, I had many data on it and losing it was not an option, so... caution is always good.
