Hey all.
I am using an IPAQ hw6515 right now and thinking about moving up to the Nokia E61. Since I am a novice when it comes to SYMBIAN platforms, I need some advice. Will the E61 sync with my MS Outlook contacts & MS Outlook mail? I would hate to have to re-enter all my contacts into PCSuite or even manually into the phone. How strong is the WIFI signal connection and would you all rate it at? Will I be running into any problems with connection speeds and ability to connect to a network?
How satisfied are you E61 users with your handsets?
Any help and advice would be great.
Thanks
😊
I have an E60 and my business partner has an E61. Both are great phones and the Symbian OS is more stable than Windows Mobile. However there will be a pretty steep learning curve for you but it's more than worth it. As for your questions, yes you can sync contacts, email, calendar, and to-do items with Outlook. However not all of the contact fields are sync'd. The important fields are but some of the lesser used fields and notes are not. Both my partner and I use wifi all the time and have found it to work as well as any other wifi device we've used with a range similar to what you'd expect from a notebook or Pocket PC. As for connecting to networks, I have had no problems connecting to my home, work, or hot spot networks. However, there are reports on both this forum and the my-symbian.com forums of people having problems connecting to certain secured networks. I cannot comment of this as I have never experienced a problem connecting to a secured network. As for a recommendation, I would certainly recommend any of the series phones.

Hey Mark,
I really appreciate all the helpful advice. I had the E62 for a week and didnt like it because it was so stripped down. Then I went and bought this IPAQ hw6515 and am not that happy with it because I need to buy a mini sd wifi card which is going to put me back another $100. Plus, it seems like my service keeps fading in and out. I get glitches in my conversations and I live in Chicago. I thought service would be awesome out here. I think Nokia sets the bar when it comes to reception, battery life and functionality. I think I will go out and get that E61.
Thanks again Mark.
