Why, oh why must Bluetooth be such a black art? Don't get me wrong, it's fine with a device to device connection but bring it anywhere near my computer and it's all with a wing and a prayer.
My gripe is that when using OBEX to transfer files from PC to phone it always, always stalls at 16383 bytes. It works fine transferring the other way and has worked fine both ways with every other phone I've had.
I've tried the usual like reinstalling the drivers etc etc etc but it does exactly the same. Possibly not relevant but I'm using a laptop and when it's stalled for a while the fan starts running full blast like the processor it really struggling to get this file across (and failing).
I'm hoping someone may have an idea which will end my frustration.

A few random thoughts...
1.
Nokia's receive OBEX transfers as if they were SMS/MMS messages. If your N80 is set to store messages in the phone's internal memory you probably only have around 16Mb free to receive the OBEX file. Try setting messages to store in your memory card...
Messages -> Options -> Settings -> Other -> Memory In Use -> Memory Card -> OK
2.
Possibly the BT drivers on your PC are out of date... try the Bluetooth dongle manufacturer's website.
Let me know if any of these ideas help out. 😉

Hi Dez
I already have SMS stored on the memory card and have done the newer driver thing.
I'm grateful for your thoughts 😊
