Replacement screws for N80 front facia

Hi all,

I mentioned in a previous thread that when replacing the front cover of my N80, I managed to strip the head on the 2 screws holding it in place. I also managed to remove most of the black paint from the screw head, making it obvious even to a NCC trainee that I had opened the handset case. From my experience the tool provided with most eBay N80 facias is poor quality and may damage the official Nokia screws.

I managed to find almost identical black screws (with standard posidrive (x) screw head) in an old APS camera lying in the cupboard. To the untrained eye, my N80 looks like it's never had the facia removed. Standard Jeweller's screwdrivers work fine with these screws and can be bought in Poundland and other similar outlets.

Hope this hint helps.. but with the benefit of hindsight I would recommend other forum users to consider paying for their replacement facias to be fitted in a Nokia Care Centre to avoid warranty problems later on.
