Problems streaming video / audio

I can't seem to access any streaming video or audio using my N80 with wi-fi.

I often visit BBC news using the browser and if I click on a video or audio link it will open the BBC media player but nothing will happen.
For example:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/europe/6106436.stm has links to video clips but they won't work for me (there are similar links to audio files that won't work either).
I thought it might have something to do with the browser I was using but I've tested this with the wap browser, the internet browser and Opera Mini and not had any joy. Perhaps it has something to do with the network (in my case Orange) not allowing this over wi-fi but only allowing it through their 3G data (which I'm not willing to test for fear of cost). I was told something along these lines by a guy at Orange recently but he also suggested it may be in-built to the version of S60 but I have just updated latest Firmware and still no luck.

I also can't get anything using www.youtube.com on the phone's browser.
What's the point of having Real Player (and Flash Player) on the handset?

Regards

I have the same problem except if I surf to the video headlines on the BBC site using RealPlayer I get a message that states the BBC are aware of people having problems viewing video over WI-FI using their mobile phones and that they are working with the network operators to solve the problem.

Does this mean that Orange are blocking my WI-FI streaming capability over the internet ? Can anyone else view BBC video over WI_FI ?

cant help with the BBC, but go to tinytube.net for youtube -it converts it to a format for the phone.

Found the solution to this on another thread, you need to set up port triggering (not forwarding) on your router Port no. 554.

N80 only has flashlite 1.1 which is pretty useless, you really need flashlite 2, but that isnt available for the N80,,

How's that work then? Any chance of a how to set up 'port triggering'?

TIA,

Steve,

If you go in to your router setup page there should be a setting called Port Forwarding/ Port Triggering it is under Advanced settings on my Netgear router. Within this screen you just enable Port Triggering and specify the Triggering Port as 554 and the Inbound Connection also to 554.

Port Triggering monitors outbound traffic. When the router detects traffic on the specified outbound port,it remembers the IP address of the device that sent the data and "triggers" the incoming port. Incoming traffic on the triggered port is then forwarded to the triggerring device.
