Ive updated via the link with NSS to v 4.0623.0.41 with out any problems despite having tried to update to v4 with reaper and bricking the phone, this one went seamlessly, although when the windows ding dong for disconnection of the USB cable happened I nearly bricked myself, never mind the phone 😡
Anyway, I now have problems with connecting via WIFI (I cant) and connecting via GPRS WAP etc. Either I get to see my SSID but cant connect or nothing happens at all....
Nothing from my router has changed and this v.4 seems less stable than the one I had... damn!
Anyone else had similar problems or able to enlighten me??
EDIT >> The phone now seems unable to hold any type of WIFI connection, as I can see wifi networks coming and going in AVAILABLE WLAN section

Check your settings. I had the same problem but i had set up everything wrong. My mistakes were the WPA key and some settings for the non wifi stuff. The N80 seems to connect anyway if the connection is worng sometimes except the connection will be dud.

I had checked my settings a few times... I thought it must have been that which was causing the issue but it wasnt.... I dont know what was because I just reinstalled on the off chance there was something wrong with the initial installation... and that seems to have fixed it!
ok, I think Ive worked out what caused my problem. Seems to be something to do with the backup on the memory card taken from before the upgrade.
As soon as that data is reinstated, everything goes 'pete tong' :icon4:
So now, I guess I need to find out how to format the mem. card
I have the same problem now connecting to my home wifi, I dont have any encription, just mac filtering and that all checks out ok, also in many free hotspots that worked before and was easy to connect I now find it a problem and although the N80 sometimes finds the wifi with good signal strength it will not allow me to connect to the web...very frustrating..sometimes it works and sometimes it doesnt

Have you upodated via FOTA to .42? Ive just done this and have again lost my home network... 😡 FRUSTRATING INDEED.
Out of interest, what manufacturer do youhave for router?
EDIT UPDATE>> Ok, Ive got my home network back by deleting it in CONNECTIONS, restarting the phone and then adding it under a different name in CONNECTIONS.
Cash, have you also saved the free hotspots?? If you have, it might be worth deleting them and readding.
Regardless if you got it working again, no doubt in my mind that FW V4 + makes the N80 much more unstable against WIFI than V3 +...
It's been a looooooooong time now waiting for Nokia to come with a proper FW update for the N80 among other things the WIFI problems!!!

tried all above but still have problems, my router is d-link DSL-G604T.
yesterday it started working ok all day, connection to any network was fine, but this morning when I tried to update my weather app it wouldnt connect again, and I also couldnt connect to the web 😞(...I am convinced this is something in V4..maybe not for everybody, but I had no problems with V3....it seems a similar situation that happened with the bluetooth, the latest V3 had problems with the BT, but the previous V3 was ok with BT...

Cash, its completely intermittant then? Mine is now connecting fine with my netgear router... although if I use the wifi wizard sometimes it doesnt show my network at all, EVEN THOUGH I can connect on it...
so yeah, V4 really seems to be a bit of a step back for me... to be honest Ive only done it cause Im that way inclined and that Im sorting out TT6.
as for the BT issue... v3 kept dropping the connection with PCSync... v4 now cant tell the name of the BT setting for my phone and just calls it symbian device.. 😡
Mine did the 'Symbian Device' thing when I first installed v4 but seems to have sorted itself out now, for no apparent reason.
Never a dull moment with Nokia.
