I have finally managed to get push email working on my N73.
Take a look at www.cortado.com . The N73 is not down as a supported device but the s60 3rd Edition client works perfectly.
The site gives you all the instructions you need about how to install etc.
Disclaimer: I have only been using this service for 1 day but I got excited so I thought I'd let you all know!

I agree that the built in client works perfectly well, but if you receive time sensitive info over email (stock data in my case) push is the only way to go. Even with the retrieval running every 30 mins the info would reach me too late to be any use. If I could set the client to retrieve every 5 or even 10 mins I would probably not use push either.
