Desk notes 9300->9300i

I'm moving from a 9300 (4.22) to a 9300i (6.27).

I've tried copying System/Apps/Note to MMC, moving it to the same place on the 9300i, and rebooting. Nothing. It doesn't appear I can beam them. Nothing obvious on PC Sync either.

I can't believe Nokia doesn't provide a way to move notes to a new device. I've read that a "full backup" doesn't include them (plus, I don't want to move *everything* that was on the 9300 anyway).

Anyone figured out how to get notes moved to a new device?

I've got the same problem with my 9500. I can't locate and extract my notes. All of them are available here: \System\Apps\NOTE\notes, but i can't open them with notepad, because most of them are cyrillic. You can simply open them with a notepad, if you're using English.
