E61 problems

Forgive me if these problems have been discussed already , I have tried to search and found nothing

I have bought an e61 (branded to Vodafone - but as it is unlocked I am using it on T-mobile Web&Walk ) I absolutely love this phone , but there are a couple of problems

1) I have a "voicemail" Icon on the home screen , & when I power up I get "You have 1 voicemail message" dialogue come up , but if I press "listen" , there is no voicemail there

&
2) I keep getting a texts from >Pers , which reads "Network message , please delete"
- not a bad problem , but when you get it about 12 times a day it becomes annoying

Other than that ..... what a lovely device ! - I have migrated from an SPV m3100 , and TBH the browsing on the (significantly cheaper) E61 puts it to shame

If anyone has any ideas , please help !

Can't you go to a vodafone store or a nokia service point to ask this is a known issue or with a firmware update this can be fixed

btw, did you already do the firmware update to v2 using the Nokia Software Updater?

I have had that phantom voicemail icon before as well. The easiest (and so far only) way to get rid of it is to leave yourself another message, or have someone else leave you a message. When you check your voicemail and delete the new message, it normally resets your phone and removes the phantom message as well as the annoying icon.
