Languages and keyboard layout in E61

Hi all,

I'm interested in buying an E61, but I'm a little confused about language and keyboard options.

Ideally, I'd like to have a device with a QWERTZ keyboard in french or english.
Unfortunately, it seems that the only QWERTZ model is the german version (the french version has a french keyboard, AZERTY).
After reading the manual online on nokia's website, it seems that it is possible to change the language, but according to some posts I've seen online, not all versions of the device come with the same languages installed.
Also, the manual says that changing language will change the set of avaiable characters. So now I'm a little bit confused.

I would really appreciate if someone with an E61 in German could tell me if it is possible to change the language to english and still use the QWERTZ keyboard in QWERTZ mode and not QWERTY.

Many thanks for your help,

Olivier

That kind of device with QWERTY keyboard came with language and keyboard configuration for each country. If You want one from some specific language and keyboard layout, make an on-lin command from that country, and You have what You want.

Unfortunately, Nokia doesn't sell what I want.
In the french part of Switzerland, we speak french but use a QWERTZ keyboard.
France uses AZERTY keyboard.
In Switzerland, as far as I know, Nokia only sells a German version with QWERTZ keyboard but no french language installed, or a French version with AZERTY keyboard. What amazes me is that apparently the French AZERTY version sells very well here, eventhough the keyboard layout is much different than what we've been used to.
Anyway, what I ended up doing is to go in the German part of Switzerland and buy a German version that I use in English.

Its even more particularitity...😊 I know Switzerland, and the french part, like Genebra! Well, You have find your solution.
