Wlan & Wifi Help Please!!!

Can anyone help me configure the WIFI settings for the E61? I bought one yesterday and am having trouble with the process. Everytime I go to the COMM Manger to look at available WLAN, I see sitesthen when I go to the web to connect to a website the phone just keeps trying to connect and never does. I have Cingular service and have downloaded all the settings from Nokias website. Sometime I get a PACKAGE DATA error.

Some one please help me on this or let me know what I should do. I DO NOT want to pay for Cingulars data packages and want to connect to the Web here and there while out to check mail..

Thanks all

It looks like it's trying to connect via GPRS, which I take it you don't have. There are two settings for the web browser access point. You can either specify an access point that you always want to connect to or you can have is "always ask". I believe that it is the latter setting that you want. Open the web browser and go to Options=>Settings=>Access point. Change this setting to "always ask". Then, when you try to connect it will ask you for an access point and you can select your wifi access point.

This presupposes that you have a wifi access point configured. You can do this by entering a web address (i.e. www.google.com) and when it asks you for an access point select Search for WLAN. There is also a tool that you can download from Nokia that makes this a little easier. Go to http://europe.nokia.com/A4195015 and download the WLAN Wizard. This free application works on all E series phones and sets up an access point and has a link to your web browser.
