I tried that and it installed fine but now I can't actually find where it's put itself in my menu.

It isn't visible in the menu on its own, but you can find what's needed in the "Settings" app.

Note that in order to use it, you need a VPN "policy" file, which is made with the Nokia Security Service Manager (NSSM) server, which you get if you have a Nokia VPN gateway. If you don't, then I don't know how you can get this NSSM server. You can also try to do it manually as attempted here:

I think I'm getting confuddled with buzzwords and acronyms here. What I want to do is browse and download the shared files on a network, not just do that media stuff.

Doesn't matter what you want to do over the VPN connection, if it is VPN that you want to do: In any case you must configure it in menu > Tools > Settings > Connection > VPN. And in order to do it, you need a VPN "policy" file, which is not that easy to get, as I wrote.

Yeah, but what I said I wanted to do, is that VPN related stuff. It's definition of VPN that I'm confused about, I don't know jack about networking.

VPN = Virtual Private Network = a secure, encrypted "tunnel" into a private network (like a company's "Intranet"😉 over a public network (like the Internet).

What were you looking for? I can't think of anything else which uses "VPN"...

Maybe the technical definition confused you- in short, it lets you connect to a private network (eg. work network) through another network (eg. internet connection).
