Wifi access to home pc

Hello again. I mentioned in my earlier thread today that i'd started playing around with orb and simple center now that i've got my router working at home.As far as i can see though, i can only only use these apps if my home pc is turned on. Is this correct or am i doing something wrong? I'd hoped to be able to access my pc files to steam to my n80 when i was out and about in a wifi area without having to have my pc on...any advice? Thanks again everyone. Jim.

Just like you cannot watch a video on your VCR, if your VCR is powered off, in the same way you can't use Orb, etc., to view content from your PC if your PC is off.

If you want to view the content on your phone while having your PC off, then you need to copy the content somewhere else (put it directly on your phone, for example).

If your computer connects to the router using a usb adapter can you still access your computer? I'd like to do this.
